The staff were all extremely friendly and excellent and provided first-class service. It was in a riverside setting in the area would definitely return;)))

that was nicely decorated and beautifully kept hotel set in super area, close to the local restaurant for dinner on both evenings, an old walled garden, which was great to find, and local pub. the venue's position was central.

Impressive traditional hotel, amazing views of the gardens and river. Unbeatable and stunning location within walking distance of Saint Leonard Church. Brilliant and incredible food, first-class service. Very relaxing stay, as always.

The rooms are huge and beautifully presented, have electric blankets, hypoallergenic pillows, and feather pillows.

Rustic charm with friendly vibes

We stayed for one night and the whole vibe was super chill. The lady who welcomed us was so warm and we loved our little garden suite. It's like a home away from home! Breakfast was decent too, especially the full English with local stuff. The WiFi didn't reach our suite, though, a bit of a pain.

We had a fantastic stay in a spacious room with fine views of the garden, and the cozy honesty bar was a nice touch for winding down. The lovely sun terrace and well-maintained garden provided perfect spots to relax and enjoy the scenery. The drink prices were slightly high, but overall, it was a nice experience, and I'd recommend it for a peaceful getaway! 🌼

I really enjoyed my stay in the lovely Deluxe Double Room with a gorgeous view of the River Eden, and I was thrilled to cozy up by the roaring fire after a long day. The garden area offers a peaceful spot to relax, and there's a sun terrace perfect for enjoying the fresh air. The only little hiccup was waiting a bit for check-in, but it didn't dampen the wonderful experience overall. 😊

The staff were really good, accommodating our late dinner arrival without hesitation. The location was peaceful and just off the motorway. The huge bathroom was a standout feature, with a bath big enough to get lost in. Breakfast was delicious, with a fantastic variety on offer!

Wandered into a culinary wonderland with great steaks that could make a grown lad weep! The honesty bar is a gem too-grab a G&T by the fire. Those charming grounds? Perfect for a stroll with the pup, especially with honey straight from the hives!

Had to jaunt through the rain just to find my room, and check-out seemed like a mad dash! The owner's dog trotting around during meals was a tad too relaxed for my liking. Still, can't say it dimmed the stay much.

Great family party spot with comfy rooms but wifi was unreliable at times.

Charming Retreat Amidst Nature

The ambiance in the lounge, complete with crackling log fires, was good. Dinner featured fresh, local ingredients. Pro tip, arrive early to savor the beautiful river views during sundown.

We enjoyed scenic walks along Rydal Water and Grasmere, soaking in the fine landscapes. The grounds were perfect, an epic river bank walk through a lush walled garden. The owners were friendly. A walk through the nearby gardens was a highlight, too!

One thing to note is that the honesty bar can get a bit pricey, so keep that in mind. We enjoyed our stay overall despite that!
